FPL: The best players for the Double Gameweek

Double Gameweek 33 is here, with a massive seven clubs playing twice. The FPL managers have to decide how to use their chips sensibly in the gameweek to score more points. The seven double gameweek teams in 33 are Arsenal, Brighton, Burnley, Leicester, Manchester United, Newcastle and Southampton.

The best for the Double GameWeek:

Bruno Fernandes (£11.6m) – Manchester United

Fixtures: Norwich (H) and Liverpool (A)

Bruno Fernandes has nine goals and seven assists this season. He has an xG of 7.81 and has created 95 Chances (1st) with an xA of 9.88 (4th).

Manchester United have a Double Gameweek of two halves this week. Their first fixture is against Norwich at home, which is the game of the season for them, followed by a crunch match against bitter rivals Liverpool.

Kasper Schmeichel (£4.9m) – Leicester City

Fixtures: Newcastle (A), Everton (A)

Rotation has been the name of the game at Leicester since Brendan Rodgers began prioritising the Europa Conference League, as evidenced last weekend when he made seven changes against Crystal Palace. Kasper Schmeichel is the one player in Rodgers’ squad who appears likely to start every game in both competitions from now until the end of the season. Schmeichel ranks 10th for FPL points among goalkeepers and is considerably cheaper than any of the nine above him in the charts.

Bukayo Saka (£6.8m) – Arsenal

Fixtures: Southampton (A) and Chelsea (A)

Bukayo Saka is enjoying a good season for Arsenal with nine goals and six assists. He has an xG of 6.83 and has created 65 Chances with an xA 7.26 (5th amongst midfielders). He has been one of the best budget options this season.

Arsenal also double in Gameweek 33, and they come up against Southampton and Chelsea. Similar to United, they have a very favourable game in the first fixture followed by a difficult derby in the second.

Fabian Schar (£4.4m) – Newcastle United

Fixtures: Leicester (H), Crystal Palace (H)

Of the seven clubs playing twice in Gameweek 33, Newcastle arguably has the best form and fixtures, making their low-budget players extremely attractive. Both of Newcastle’s opponents will come into the game having played physically and mentally draining fixtures a few days before – Leicester will face PSV in the Europa Conference League and Crystal Palace against Chelsea in the FA Cup semi-final. That could bode well for their defenders, of whom Fabian Schar is the pick of the bunch.

James Maddison (£7.0m) – Leicester City

Fixtures: Newcastle United (A) and Everton (A)

James Maddison has now amassed eight goals, and eight assists in 22 starts this season. He has an xG of 5.97 and has created 44 Chances with an xA of 5.46.

Leicester City have a really enticing double in Gameweek 33. They take on Newcastle United and Everton, and I really like these two fixtures for them. Although the Toon are a much-improved side than in the first half of the season, I still think the Leicester attack will be too much for them.
