UCL Final: Fantasy Team and Tips

The 30th version of the UEFA Champions League has had its own stories written. From the surprisingly good performances in the group stage from Ajax, Sheriff Tiraspol, and Benfica to the surprise run from Villarreal, this season has been full of surprises.

All of it has now come down to the finale in Paris. The Stade de France would be the venue to host the climax between Spanish Champions Real Madrid and the English runners-up Liverpool. It would be the ultimate Matchday showdown for the fantasy managers, not only those on the field.

UCL Fantasy 2021/22 Final would be the time managers can keep a maximum of 8 players from a team. Also, a maximum of 5 free transfers are available between the 2nd leg of the semifinal and the final. Hence, it would be necessary that teams are set up with extreme levels of fantasy strategies. Since there would be no scope for manual substitutions after the match, the 1st XI must remain firm, regardless of the bench. Also, if you have saved the Limitless or Wildcard chip, you must use either of them with proper planning.

The domestic leagues for both clubs concluded on Sunday, May 22. Real Madrid drew with Real Betis 0-0 while Liverpool defeated Wolves 3-1. Karim Benzema won La Liga’s golden boot with 27 goals. He also led in shots on goal with 59. The royal club scored 80 goals from 259 shots on target while conceding 31. Vinicius Jr tops the leaderboard of successful dribbles with 95.

Mo Salah shared the Premier League’s golden boot with Heung Min Son in England at 23 goals. The Egyptian star also recorded the most assists in EPL with 13. Goalkeeper Alisson Becker won the golden-gloves award by keeping 20 clean sheets. Liverpool came in second in EPL, scoring 94 from 729 shots while keeping 21 clean sheets, similar to Manchester City.

Tips:

Invest in the first XI. There won’t be any scope for manual substitutions, unlike in the previous rounds. Hence, having a decent first XI is necessary. Fill in the remaining four spots in the squad with the lowest priced options available.

Choose your captain wisely. Much like the previous point, captains can’t be switched either. Hence, choosing the best option is a must. We’d suggest the captain choices from the game, but the final selection would be up to you.
